Actually, I almost drove past this beautiful city. But the stop was really worth it.
A manageable city with great antebellum houses and a worthwhile historical district.
And of course Halloween wasn't far away. As you can see.
The city gained wealth through cotton and railroad construction. And you can still see that clearly in the historical part.

Eigentlich fuhr ich fast an dieser wunderschönen Stadt vorbei. Aber der Stopp lohnte sich wirklich.
Eine überschaubare Stadt mit tollen Antebellumhäuser und einen lohnenswerten historischen Distrikt.
Und natürlich war Halloween nicht mehr weit. Wie man sieht.
Die Stadt erlangte durch Baumwolle und Eisenbahnbau Reichtum. Und das kann man im historischen Teil noch gut erkennen.
